It is time for another Seasonal Expression 1 recipe challenge and today I created THREE! The three cards found on page 18.
Using the Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp Set and Thin Cut bundle, Adventure Fundamentals Raspberry and white stripe pattern paper and Basic Fundamentals Pebble and Charcoal pattern paper and Charcoal and White Daisy cardstock. The butterfly and flowers were colored using Raspberry and Sweet Leaf ink and the clear shimmer pen, my newest favorite paint brush.
It is so much FUN to use the Idea Books as inspiration!

It is time for another Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge. This week we are using Mink, Sweet Leaf, and Heather.
My project started with a frame from the Close To My Heart Flower Market Cricut collection transformed into a Mink card base and Sweet Leaf overlay, and a Heather Fundamental floral pattern flower petal inset.
The inside sentiment is created using one of the fonts from the Flower Market Cricut collection.
I am loving the Chelsea Gardens paper collection. Here is one of the three layouts from the Chelsea Workshop Your Way Scrapbooking kit and it already has photos!!
Today's Seasonal Expression 1 Recipe Challenge comes from page 19. It is a very pretty one photo layout.
I went in a little different direction using this recipe as my inspiration.
Sometimes I look at a layout and when going through my photos one jumps out as the perfect photo for that layout - this was the photo that I inspired me to create from the recipe. It is simple, which is how I like to memory keep. The 'together' stamp image from the Chelsea Gardens scrapbooking stamp set was perfect because together they are my sunshine.
I did change the direction as I wanted the title to be a part of the sentiment that was already on the photo.
I shared the Impossible Box on a recent blog post and now I want to share how I created the file in Design Space. Today's Design Space Friday is all about the Impossible Box - enjoy
I am so excited to once again be a part of the Color My Heart Dare Design Team. This is my first week and our colors are Glacier, Charcoal, and Bashful.
My project for this Color Dare is an Impossible Box. I saw a video and, as you will soon learn about me, had to create a Design Space file so I can cut out many, many, many more.
The box is cut in Charcoal with silver foil paper matted Chelsea Gardens Glacier striped pattern paper. A Bashful glitter paper scallop circle is the base for a silver foil matted White Daisy sentiment piece. 'just for YOu' comes from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set and Thin Cut bundle as does the butterflies.
The box is finished by coloring the butterflies with the NEW Bashful shimmer pen.
Enjoy and remember you have two weeks to play along, click HERE
Chelsea Gardens is perfect for helping me finally finish my 2016 trip to visit my daughter and family in Victoria. The Butchart Gardens was one of my favorite stops.
Stamping the title and several of the embellishments directly on the base page are so fun! This layout is one of the classes I am teaching in January.
Printing on vellum is a cool way to add journaling.
Stamping directly on the base page or stamping and cutting out are some of the techniques used to create this layout and will be shared in my upcoming classes.
The soft colors of Spring are showcased in the paper collection of the month, Chelsea Gardens.
These are two of the cards that will be part of one of my January card classes.
The beautiful butterfly image from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set is easily cut out using the Thin Cuts (you can purchase as a bundle). Stamped in Archival Black makes it perfect for coloring using the clear shimmer pen and Glacier ink.
The Chelsea Gardens scrapbooking stamp set is used for the floral random stamped background seen below the vellum overlay piece (card on the right). The sentiment is stamped in Glacier pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
The accent dot embellishments are white dots colored with the ShinHan markers.
Envelopes are stamped to coordinate with each card and don't forget to add a little something to the inside.
Each week I will share my version of a layout, card, or other project found in the pages of the NEW Seasonal Expression 1. Our Idea Books are full of IDEAS to make your crafting experience less stressful. Let me share with you how easy it is to be INSPIRED by and create your version from the ideas shared in the pages of our idea books
. My challenge to you is to give it a try!
From page 12, a Chelsea Garden springy layout becomes a black, charcoal, and white snow layout
A black pattern from the retired Silver & Gold paper collection is the base for this 12"x 12" single page layout. The word pattern paper from the same collection was cut at 11" x 11". giving a 1/2" border. White Daisy cardstock cut to 10 3/4" x 10 3/4" is the next layer. The striped zip strip is trimmed to 1/2" x 10 3/4" and placed 1" from the bottom of the White Daisy piece. A 1" strip of the same pattern paper as the second layer (it was actually the leftover from the 11" cut) is placed a top of the zip strip. It was so cool how 'let it snow' was one of the phrases on this paper. I used 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" portrait photos instead of the Picture My Life cards as shown in the inspiration artwork. I did stamp directly on the White Daisy piece 'something WONDERFUL' as the title and added the 'Happy Thoughts' sentiment piece to the right side of the layout, stamped on a piece of 1 1/4" x 2" scrap of White Daisy flagged on the left side. A few black dots from the Black and White Dots collection finished the page.
I am thinking of adding a vellum piece of journaling along the bottom, what do you think?
Enjoy and comment below if you will be trying your hand at this layout.
It is a NEW YEAR and a NEW Seasonal Expression 1 catalog!! After snow in the South, just looking at the cover makes me think of Spring.
I have been working with Chelsea Gardens paper collection, the color scheme and several of the patterns are shared here on the cover of the Seasonal Expression 1! And a 'garden' inspired Stamp of the Month, with a little seed packet border and beautiful sentiments adds to the promise of Spring.
