Layout Challenge - Altering a Scrapbook Workshop

 

I love how easy it is to change up a Stampin' Up! Scrapbook Workshop Kit layout just by using a different paper for the base page.

In this layout, I took a more neutral bark pattern and changed it with a darker more outdoorsy pattern, This pattern showcased the photos I wanted use.

Add a shaped photo to focus more on the what is in the photo.

Use several shapes and coordinating colors to create the perfect cluster.

I used white gloss spray to add splattering and several of the stickers from the sticker sheet.

Oh Christmas Tree

 Using the Christmas tree diecut was the inspiration for this alternative layout to the Stampin' Up! Reindeer Memories Scrapbook Workshop kit.

Trimmer Fun Finished Layout

 All the trimmer FUN was to finish a layout as a part of my 52 Layouts in a Year challenge. Sometimes it seems I never have time to complete my own scrapbook layouts so this year (2024) I have challenged myself to finish one a week.

Let's Make our own Pattern Paper

 Today we follow up on the Stampin' Up!® trimmer journey. Using the scoring tool I will create a pattern paper for the layout I am working towards with these trimmer tips!

A New Crafty Beginning

As many have heard Close To My Heart will be closing their doors after 40 years. They will be missed, especially by me. I am a coordinating kind of crafter which brought me to Close To My Heart in the first place. I loved the way the ink, paper, and embellishments all fit together like a glove.

And the STAMPS!!

April 30th will be my last day as a Close To My Heart Maker. It will be a sad day as my 18th year with Close To My Heart will have been March. These past 18 years have been the BEST!

Now to the direction this blog will be going. I will be sharing the 'NEW to me' products that I will be playing with. My plan will begin with working on consistency of posting (stop laughing).  

As I am sitting at a crop table in one of the local scrapbook stores in Alabama (The Stampin' Elephant in Hanceville, AL) the lure to play with Mintay paper is calling me. I am sure I will be playing with many 'new to me' products from other companies. The Tim Holtz watercolor pencils, distress inks, Simple Stories card kits and so much more. As I create with these, I will be sharing here and on my Youtube channel.

Alcohol Marker Coloring Club

I am so excited to share that our June Alcohol Marker Coloring Club will be featuring gnomes and there will be an option to purchase the coordinating thin cuts. The stamp set is Gnome Matter C1855/Z3741. The marker colors for June are Coral Shades TriBlend™ Marker Z2518 and Brown Grey Shades TriBlend™ Marker Z2511.

Our techniques will include shading and coloring on the envelope. We will be using several of the marker colors from past club classes. If you have not been a part of the club from the beginning, you may want to purchase these additional markers.

The class project will be a pop-up window card.

In the video, I am sharing how to line up a border stamp using a score line created on your trimmer with a bone folder. There is plenty of shine using Flamingo shimmer trim and the Flamingo shimmer brush.
