Words to Stamp By

That is what I think of when I look at January 2109's Stamp of the Month, Card Captions (S1901).

The lovely sentiments and different fonts make this a MUST HAVE for the cardmakers!

And just a few images thrown in give you options for the inside and envelopes for those beautiful cards you will create.

My first project used the leftovers from the butterfly stencil I created for a card shared a few months ago. I used the butterfly cutouts to create a cascade of movement with a few sparkles added, cause you can never have enough sparkle.

The sentiment was stamped in White Daisy Pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

What else goes with cascading butterflies? Of course, sunshine and rainbows. Add a few flowers along the edge of envelope, yes this stamp set has everything you will need.

And you can get it for $5 with a qualifying purchase!! Check out the new Seasonal Expression 1 Idea Book, goes live today, January 1st, and your copy of the Idea Book will be added to your order FREE!

Cheers (S1511) Stamp of the Month

November's Stamp of the Month is a great stamp set for the New Year or any DREAM BIG moment, graduation, new job, etc.,

The layout showcases the New Year option, using one of the layouts from the new Fundamental Workshop layouts found on my website. Look for more on the Fundamental Special during the month.

The Fundamental Basic paper pack is the neutral colors used here (retired pattern), the new Black pattern would work just as well.

The Gold Fundamental Assortment, Gold Glitter paper, and Black ink round out the products used to create this layout. 3D Foam tape was used to add a little dimension and our journaling pen was used to highlight the title.

Please leave a comment letting me know what you think, I love to hear from you.

Twinkle (S1510) October Stamp of the Month

Is it ever too early to start on Christmas cards? No way, and that is why I am so excited about this month's Stamp of the Month!

Several great sentiments you can use on cards, layouts, or even a Picture My Life card. The images include an ornament, lights with twinkly stars, and a frame of stars. Three images (see the red outline) coordinate with the Artiste Cricut cartridge.

I will be sharing more artwork featuring the Twinkle Stamp of the Month.

The first piece of artwork uses the new Eggplant (Enchanted color group) color. The three levels of matting include:

Eggplant - 4" x 5 1/4"
Cocoa - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Purple Glitter paper - 3 7/5" x 5"
Colonial White - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Placed on a Colonial White card base.

I stamped one end of the squiggle line three times at three levels along the top left side leaving room for the three ornaments to overlap but still show through.

I stamped the sentiement 'Joy' in the bottom right corner of the Colonial White piece.

Using 3D Foam Tape, two of the ornaments, the ones on each side are popped up with the middle ornament attached directly to the sentiment piece.

Put the pieces together and I added some retired cocoa ribbon (this month the Use Your Stash theme is ribbon, so I will be sharing ways to use ribbon) to the tops of the ornaments.

And, of course, you have to remember the inside of the card.

I used the twinkly stars to randomly stamp around the sentiment.

And you may want to remember to stamp on the envelope that is where I am off to.

Please enjoy this card and share your thoughts in a comment.

September Stamp of the Month - Paper Garden (S1509)

It is September, the cool breezes are coming, school has started, and the lovely apple recipes are floating around everywhere (I love cooking with apples) AND it is time for a new Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month, Paper Garden (S1509).

An artistically styled stamp set with 11 images, my favorite is the chain linked fence looking image!

The Stamp of the Month may be purchased alone for $17.95 or ONLY $5 with a qualifying $50 order, which with all the new products found in the NEW Annual Inspiration and Holiday Expression catalogs, it won't take long to meet that qualifying order.

My first Stamp of the Month project is part of the Rockin' heARTs team SOTM card swap (another reason to join the Rockin' heARTs not to mention the 22% discount you receive!)

I could not decide on Sunset with a Sunset flower or Whisper with a Thistle flower, which is your favorite, please share in the comments.

And the pattern paper is from Nevermore, see how versatile the Halloween inspired paper is.  I used both sides of the pattern paper shown in the upper left hand corner. Nevermore is one of the two paper packs that will be featured throughout the month here on my blog and on my Close To My Heart website.

Here are two examples of artwork from the awesome Close To My Heart artists -- the card shows off the watercolor look - did you know CTMH now carries watercolors, watercolor brushes and watercolor paper? WE DO!! Click HERE to see all the great watercolor products.

And the layout shows you how you can use it no matter what your crafting specialty is.

There will be more SOTM artwork throughout the month!!

REMEMBER, when September is over, this stamp set is gone forever.

Monday Morning Cricut Fun

A little Monday morning fun with the new Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge, Artistry! This cartridge comes with a full pack of our new Enchantment cardstock full of colors like peacock, eggplant, fern and more (be the first on your block to have it) and you can purchase it DIGITALLY!! Oh what fun for us Explore lovers!!

Well, enough of that and on to some fun. Our Stamp of the Month, Framed, is the perfect subject for using the Artistry cartridge, BUT the carrier sheet does not give us any clue as to shape sizes so let me share with you how to figure this out.

If you find a stamp set that seems to share a coordinating shape, put the stamp on your Versamat (if you don't have this wonderful mat, use a ruler or something to measure the size by) and write down the height and width.

Here you can see that the shape measures 1 1/4 x 2 1/2. For Design Space and Cricut Craft Room users this is pretty easy as you may adjust both the height and width. For Expression and Expression 2, I would try using the height and see if it will adjust correctly.

For Explore users, I like to search by cartridge, so click on Cartridge, type in the search bar the cartridge you are looking for which is Artistry and then scroll down. This shape is part of a layer, so look for the shape.

You may want to ungroup and delete the overlay and only size the shape. I keep a Design Space file for all stamps with a coordinating shape for easy access. Click here for the link to the Framed Design Space file.

And one more card using the Zoe Creative Insider (it is great to be a Close To My Heart consultant and have so many resources at our fingertips -- ask me how you can get a brand NEW consultant kit and the Creative Insider) and the Framed Stamp of the Month.

Framed (S1508) August Stamp of the Month

Welcome to my new adventure as the Rockin' HeART stamper. I am happiest when I am getting inky creating projects to share with my crafty friends.

Here are a few cards created showcasing the August Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month, Framed (S1508). This stamp set coordinates with our NEW Artistry Cricut cartridge and the cool thing, Artistry can be purchased NOW as a cartridge or a download. More on this later today!!

Using the Zoe colors (a sneak peek paper suite available in August), Glacier, Sweet Leaf, Sorbet, and Canary in our Paper Fundamentals, here are three cards using our wonderful Creative Insider workshop.

Fundamentals have a pattern with a neutral on one side and the same pattern tone on tone embossed on the other. The Fundamentals used in these cards will be retiring September 1st, you better get yours before they are gone. They come in a combo pack based on one of Close To My Heart color groups.

First card showcases the neutral with color pattern side.

To make the card pop, the inside has a glacier matted sentiment piece stamped with the stamp set, Finding the Words (D1646).

Second card uses the tone on tone side and last card uses the scraps from the first two flagged on the ends.

Silver Shimmer Trim and retired gray pearls are all the embellishments added.

Frames were stamped in Whisper and sentiment in Slate.
