Design Space Friday Popup Frame Card

A card swap group I belong to is using the Popup Frame card technique this month. I love the idea and, of course, when I have to create more than one, I want to use my Cricut.

Here is my version of the card. I used the Make It From Your Heart volume 4 how to book pattern 17, Chelsea Gardens (using up my scraps as this retires at the end of April), March's Stamp of the Month, Birthday Time, Glacier and Sweet Leaf ink, Chelsea Gardens dots (retired), and white twine.

The inside is ready for a photo. I used the pen to draw the heart and write the sentiment.

In the video, I share that this is a true 12" piece. I place the cardstock 1/4" (mark your mat so you will be able to do this whenever you need) and use the 12" x 24" mat option in Design Space, however you can still use your 12" x 12" mat.

Popping a Stamped Background

Wednesday's My Wonderful World of Stamping features the March Stamp of the Month, Birthday Time (S1803) -- only a few more days to get this stamp set and with a $50 order it is only $5

I used the Versamat to line up the stamp image Celebrate to create a background and a ShinHan marker to pop one for the sentiment. I do a Wednesday LIVE video in my Facebook Customer Group, if you would like to join, comment below and I will send you a link.

And remember to stamp the inside! I used a sentiment from the Stamp of the Month and the stars from another stamp set! I love to have star and heart images to add to any other stamp set.

Enjoy,
Shirley

Design Space Friday Creating a Border

I was looking for a theatre style border for a layout showcasing my grands making up their own plays and acting them out. After I did not see what I wanted, I decided to create my own.

Here is the layout with the border across the top. The images are welded to a 1/2" base (the video will share how this is made) and that base fit right under the gold strip across the top.

This layout is created using the Step Right Up bundle!

Stargazer Featured Paper Blog Hop

Welcome to our Featured Paper Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Stargazer Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart Consultants. If you are visiting from Cheryl’s blog, then you are on the right track, if not please start at the CTMH Blog Challenge and Support Group Blog Hop beginning with our hostess, Carol.

My project is my version of the Stamp of the Month artwork from our Seasonal Expression 1 Idea Book (page ! In the Idea Book they used Chelsea Gardens, however I have a soon to be 5 year old grandson who needed a superhero style card.

I used the Stamp of the Month, Birthday Time (S1803) for all the sentiments, the Poppy striped pattern paper from Stargazer and Canary and Pacifica cardstock, colors of Stargazer. A little white shimmer trim, a black glitter arrow from a Complements stash and some journaling pen doodling along two edges of the striped pattern paper.

Next check out Kathleen's blog.

Enjoy!

Design Space Friday Slice, Flip, and Write

Today I am making a card with a window and writing on the inside.

Here is the finished card with a little Punny Pal bear stamped on the inside. I used a journaling pen to highlight the opening. The sentiment is also from the Punny Pals stamp set. This stamp set is our Operation Smile stamp set. If you watched the Chrissy Metz, actress from This is Us, on the red carpet, you heard her talk about Operation Smile.

AND THERE ARE THIN CUTS!

CC1340

The bear is colored with Pacifica ink using the clear shimmer pen. The clear shimmer pen sometimes causes the ink to react and separate the colors so you can see some blue and purple.

On the inside I let Design Space write Happy Birthday using the silver Cricut marker and with my journaling pen I drew the outline of a balloon with string that the bear is holding.

Enjoy

My Wonderful World of Stamping

A new Facebook LIVE series I began this month is My Wonderful World of Stamping, where I share a favorite stamp set and a technique. Today I share the For You Darling Stamp and Thin Cut bundle
(Z3375) on special this month for only $15.71!

The card uses the White Daisy Value Pack card base and envelope, Gold Foil Paper, Poppy Cardstock and the techniques include dry embossing and wet embossing.

The Gold Foil and Poppy cardstock are cutout using the Cricut to 4" x 5 1/4" with an oval in the center. The Gold Foil oval is smaller so it leaves a gold foil mat around the white of the card where the Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped using this months Stamp of the Month, Birthday Time (S1803) with the VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing powder.

The flower base stamp image are stamped in Poppy and the shade or outline stamp set image is wet embossed with Versamark and Fine Gold embossing powder.

They are cut out with the Thin Cut die and placed at the bottom right hand of the open oval with gold ribbon bow placed in the upper left hand side.

Inspire and Motivate to Tell Your Story

It’s all about the memories for me, what about you?  Our children and their children need to know our favorite memories and what our lives were like.  They also need to know about their lives and remember the things they did.

Let Me Show You How is what we, as Close To My Heart consultants, do. I want to inspire and motivate you, while not breaking the bank, to continue, or begin, to Tell Your Story.
And thus, my new group was born.

In this group, you will be challenged and inspired to create a layout a week. That will mean FOUR to FIVE layouts a month! You can create all or just the ones that fit into your busy schedule.

The shown layout is a sample of layouts that will be shared to inspire and motivate you.

Are you ready for the details?

  • On the 15th of the month, I will share next month’s layouts and a supply list used to create them. For March, the layouts and supply list will be posted tomorrow, March 6th.
  • You have from the 15th to the end of the month to place your group order. Pick the supplies you will need to complete the version of the shared layouts. Or, if you wish to, change it up a bit, and order the supplies you need to create your version. For March, I will share the supply list tomorrow and you have until the end of the month to join by placing your first order and emailing me that you are in. March's supply list will be posted here tomorrow, March 6th or email me for a copy, if you are ready to start now.
  • The commitment for this group is a $25 purchase each month (before tax and shipping).
  • The length of commitment is 6 months.  This group will run from March - August.
  • There will be 6 members in each group.
  • There will be a special Facebook group open to all group members.
  • Each Monday, I will focus on three versions of the featured two-page layout. I will share the instructions for each layout and a LIVE video sharing some of the techniques and tips.  You will be challenged to create and post your version to the Facebook group to motivate and inspire others, if you wish. Each challenge participant's name will be entered into the Challenge Drawing!
What are your rewards for this commitment?

  • During the 6 month commitment, you will be a Hostess during one month!  You will receive at least $25 in free product and one half-price item!
  • If there are Cricut cuts on my layout that you would like, they will be mailed to you.
  • Do you want your rewards to be higher?  Simply invite people to shop on my website during your Hostess month!
  • FREE Seasonal Expressions 2 and Annual Inspirations Idea Book mailed to you.
  • Games and prizes in the Facebook group!

I want you to be inspired to Tell Your Stories
and
to fill your album(s) with your memories!

Are you ready to sign up?  Or do you have questions?

rockin' heART Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the rockin' heART Team Blog Hop! This month we are doing the colors of Stargazer, the featured paper collection this month! If you are coming from Cheryl's blog, you are on the right track.

My project uses the colors Canary, Pacifica and Poppy! I used the technique I shared in my recent Design Space Friday video.

Love the peek a boo look. The sentiment and outline on the star were all done in Design Space.

And the inside with the bright Canary is the perfect color to show through the stars cut out in the front.

This is a short hop this month! Hop back over to see Cheryl's awesome creation again!

Enjoy

It is time for another Design Space Friday project. And a perfect project for the Color My Heart Color Dare! It is all about the Poppy!!

My project is all about the color Poppy and an awesome technique I saw on a recent Jennifer McGuire video.

She used dies to create a see-through card, what a novel idea! And the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut collection is all about cards, insert evil laugh, off to the laboratory (DesignSpace) to see what I can create!

And here is the finished project outside

And inside

Welcome March with Birthday Wishes SOTM

It is all about BIRTHDAYs and CELEBRATIONs in March with this AMAZING Stamp of the Month, Birthday Time (S1803). You can celebrate and invite and more with just one stamp set.

Birthday Time (S1803)
And this month there is a great DIE-NAMITE Thin Cuts special!!

One of my first projects uses the Gift Box Thin Cut to create a 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 3/4" folded box cut out of the light side of Sapphire cardstock. The PARTY TIME sentiment from the Stamp of the Month is stamped onto a White Daisy cardstock piece matted on Stargazer, featured paper collection for March, Poppy striped pattern paper. The Poppy striped piece was cut using the rectangle Thin Cut that is part of the Gift Box Thin Cut collection.

I used a ShinHan marker, journaling pen, and the YAY sentiment fussy cut out, to finish this project, which will be the make 'n take at my March crop! It could be the make 'n take at your March event, just let me know the date!!

Enjoy!

Oh Christmas Tree

Using the Christmas tree diecut was the inspiration for this alternative layout to the Stampin' Up! Reindeer Memories Scrapbook Worksho...
